Walnut Hills Retirement Community has new campus executive
The Walnut Hills board of directors and Greencroft Communities have announced Rob Aneshansel filled the position of vice president of operations and executive director for Walnut Hills, effective Aug. 2.
Aneshansel is only the fourth executive in Walnut Hills’ 47-year history. He replaced Jeremy Kauffman, who relocated recently to Indiana.
Aneshansel’s background includes 12 years as administrator at Shady Lawn in Dalton and 12 years of administrator experience with Altercare including Millersburg and Canton. For the past several years, he has had his own consulting business.
“After an extensive regional search, we found Rob Aneshansel. His knowledge about the industry and particular experience in working in our county’s unique culture were key components of our selecting Rob to come to lead Walnut Hills,” said Eric Miller, MD, chair of the Walnut Hills board of directors. “With experience in Holmes County and Wayne County, he is knowledgeable about Amish and Conservative Mennonite values, and he is excited to be leading and working with us.”
Aneshansel holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in health-services administration, both from Ohio University. He is licensed in Ohio as a nursing home administrator and a social worker, and he is a certified executive in assisted-living administration.
Aneshansel lives in Canal Fulton with his wife Kelly. They have four children, all living at home.
“The staff and residents have been very warm and welcoming,” Aneshansel said. “You quickly can see the care and compassion all of the staff have for the residents they care for. Walnut Hills truly is one of a kind. I’m excited to be part of such an amazing, friendly community.”
