For the second straight year, Solid Rock Photos has achieved national recognition from Senior Portrait Artists (spa), an international guild of portrait photographers specializing in high school seniors. Solid Rock, which is located at 121 W. 3rd St., Dover, is one of the two portrait studios in the U.S that has earned a regional winner in the international spa high school model search.
Dover senior Pierce Applin was Solid Rocks regional winner and will be joining the entire Solid Rock Photos staff – owners Denny and Suzanne Trimmer, studio and operations directors Dennielle Stull and Rochelle Ring, and portrait artist Sean Palmer, at the 2011 spa event, Feb. 14-16, at Riviera Resort, Palm Springs, Ca.
We hold Senior Portrait Artists in such high regard, noted Solid Rocks Suzanne Trimmer, So make no mistake, this recognition is a big deal for our studio and our team. We all work so hard to provide an incredible experience for our seniors so when one is able to earn a modeling trip to represent our studio and be photographed by some of the worlds top photographers – it is very gratifying.
Applin will spend a day as one of the events models during photo training sessions and will be eligible to participate in spas runway fashion show. He will also spend a day working with the Solid Rock team on a series of special sessions around the resort with another Rockstar senior, Ali Seymore from Central Catholic High School.
Seymore earned her trip to the event through spas peoples choice voting on Facebook. We have planned a special photo session in the spring for our top five vote-getters, said Trimmer. But behind the scenes we wanted to reward the senior in our group with the most votes, so we made the decision – no matter which one of our kids it was going to be, that we would fly them out to the event as well.
Last year, Strasburg Highs Michalea King represented Solid Rock Photos as a nationwide regional winner and participated in the spa event.
