Dutch Valley Gifts and Furniture in Sugarcreek welcomes the community to its spring open house, April 9-10. The open house is a community and family tradition filled with kid-friendly activities, entertainment and discounted merchandise. This year’s theme, Spring Blooms, will feature spring floral demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, a spring fashion show and live musical entertainment. “The Dutch Valley Gifts open house is really our way to thank our customers for their loyalty and to show our community how much we appreciate each and every member of it,” said Andrea Erb, Dutch Valley Gifts manager. “There will be wonderful refreshments and food, special discounts and fun activities for the whole family.” The open house will kick off with a scavenger hunt throughout Dutch Valley Gifts and Furniture on Friday, April 9 at 9 a.m. Customers will be encouraged to follow clues that lead them to a number of Dutch Valley products. Participants will punch their scavenger hunt card each time they solve a clue, and gift bags will be given to all who successfully complete the search. To highlight the season’s latest clothing, accessories and footwear, Dutch Valley will be hosting fashion shows April 9, at 3 p.m. and April 10, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The shows will feature clothing for infants, toddlers, children, junior girls and women of all ages. Models will walk the “runway,” starting on the third floor of the gift store and winding down the staircase. Live entertainment during the open house will feature Lisa Troyer, a contemporary Christian artist. Troyer will perform songs from her latest album, Meet Me at the Well, April 9, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to visit The Farm’s new baby giraffe, which will be on the Dutch Valley campus April 8 and 9. The Farm is holding a “Name the Baby Giraffe” contest, and suggestions will be accepted at any Dutchman Hospitality location in Holmes and Tuscarawas counties.
