“Nothing changes but the name,” said Dan Troyer, president of Holmes Lumber of Millersburg. Sugarcreek Lumber of downtown Sugarcreek was purchased by Holmes Lumber in 1991. Holmes Lumber of Millersburg has announced that Sugarcreek Lumber has become Holmes Lumber, Sugarcreek, effective March 1. “We are the same company,” said Steve Miller, vice president of Holmes Lumber of Millersburg, “and, as we market the company moving forward, it’s much more efficient and easier to market one name rather than two.” Miller said both locations are under the same management team with the same commitment to quality and customer service. He said Holmes Lumber, Sugarcreek is committed to be the absolute best in serving the lumber and building material needs of the larger Sugarcreek and Tuscarawas County area. All employees will stay the same—truly the only change is the name. Miller said when customers come to Holmes Lumber, Sugarcreek, they will see the same smiling faces ready to help them through their project. Arlen Mullet, manager of Holmes Lumber, Sugarcreek said that top-notch service will continue at Sugarcreek’s only lumber and hardware store. In 2004, Holmes Lumber became a member of the Carter Lumber Companies, based in Kent.
