Coleen Ellis is America’s foremost authority on the loss of a pet, and is the founder of the nation’s first pet-exclusive funeral home, Two Hearts Pet Loss Center in Greenwood, Ind. Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory of Dover, New Philadelphia and Strasburg, in conjunction with Toland-Herzig’s “My Friend” Pet Crematory are bringing Ellis to Tuscarawas County for a very special presentation. She will be the featured speaker at a free community seminar on Tuesday, April 20, at 7 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, 831 Boulevard, Dover. The seminar will focus on the real-life feelings of grief that non-pet owners sometimes don’t understand. She will talk about practical ways to help grieving pet owners heal and will share her personal stories of loss. Her energy and boundless love for furry friends will be obvious from the second she greets guests. Ellis is a pet lover first, pioneer in the pet loss business second. Normally her presentations are reserved for larger cities. Her schedule rarely allows her the chance to talk to smaller communities, so Toland-Herzig is thrilled that she has chosen to spend an evening in Dover. Those who plan to attend may RSVP by calling 330-343-6132.
