ZCA welcomes new faces to Zoar Village State Memorial
Jon Elsasser, president of Zoar Community Association (ZCA), has announced that Jennifer Donato and Rebecka (Becka) Hackett have been selected as site manager and assistant site manager respectively, at Zoar Village State Memorial.Donato, a resident of New Philadelphia, is a retired project manager from the Ohio Department of Transportation and has worked in real estate and interior design. She has also run her own retail business, has been an artisan for many years in the Zoar Harvest Festival and has experience at Zoar Village State Memorial as a part-time employee and volunteer. She holds a bachelor's degree in fine arts interior design from Syracuse University and has completed course work at Ohio University and the Cleveland Institute of Art.
Hackett most recently worked as a museum educator at Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland. She has also worked as a collections assistant at a North Carolina museum of history and science, a graduate teaching assistant, and an intern with the Ohio Historical Society at Zoar, Schoenbrunn and Fort Laurens. She holds a bachelor's degree from Muskingum University and a master's degree in public history from Middle Tennessee State University. She currently resides in Dalton, but is planning to move to the Bolivar/Zoar area.
In addition to serving as overall manager of the Zoar Village State Memorial site, Donato will focus on advertising and marketing, events planning, and retail activities and rentals. Hackett will focus on developing and offering educational programs, interpretation and exhibits, and volunteer management.
Rick Geis will continue to serve as maintenance director for the site and Sherrie Baughman continues to provide administrative support and bookkeeping for both the site and ZCA.
The ZCA welcomed Donato and Hackett to their new positions and are confident that the entire team will achieve goals and objectives for the state memorial site.
