Wooster Highway Church of God started with just a handful of people 37 years ago. They met in a home until they bought a church building on Wooster Ave.
In 1973, John Vaughn became the first pastor, serving for 12 years. In 1985, Kenneth Yoder succeeded Vaughn and pastored the congregation for 25 years.
As the years passed the congregation grew. In 2009, Yoder felt the need to resign. Seth Harding, 44, became pastor on Nov. 21.
Harding, a building inspector, also was a traveling evangelist, youth leader, Sunday School teacher and co-assistant pastor for his father, the late William Harding, at the Mt. Vernon Church of God.
He and his wife, Taryn, have four children, Breanna (Emanuel) Eicher, Tate, Hannah and Layne. They are looking forward to the future and meeting new people and making new friends.
