Jerusalem Walk returns for its 11th year at Winfield church
Winfield Community Church has been busy preparing for the Jerusalem Walk. This production is in its 11th year.
This is an indoor drama performed by 50 cast members from the congregation and others. The costumes have all been handmade, along with the sets. Most of the actors have been in their roles for many years.
The journey is interactive as attendees walk through each scene as a witness. Attendees begin in the upper room, where they can watch and listen to preparations for the Last Supper. Next, they follow Jesus into the Garden of Gethsemane. They will hear the verdict of guilty in the Hall of Pontius Pilate and will behold the Lamb of God as he carries the cross to Golgotha. They will witness the crucifixion and weep with the women at his feet. Finally, they will see the empty tomb and resurrection of Christ.
Due to the realistic portrayal of each scene, the sound effects and some visual effects, it may be difficult for young children.
The Jerusalem Walk will be Friday, April 11 and 18 every half hour from 6:30-9 p.m. and Saturday, April 12 and 19 from 4-8 p.m. No reservations are needed.
