The Ohio East Team of Operation Christmas Child will host a dinner with speaker Yves Dushime on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Carlisle Inn in Walnut Creek, 4985 Walnut St.

Dushime was born to a family of eight in a refugee camp in Congo. His family fled from the ripple effects of the Rwandan genocide and moved from Rwanda to Congo, Kenya and Togo.

Dushime was 11 years old and living in Togo when he received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. He now lives in upstate New York.

This event is open to the public, but due to limited seating, reservations are necessary by Sept. 6. To make reservations, call Nancy Schlabach at 330-231-5436 or Loretta Dively at 330-874-2351.

Donations will be accepted for the evening’s expenses. Additional money received will be given to Operation Christmas Child for The Greatest Journey, a follow-up discipleship class.
