4-H Shooting Sports Club meets
The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club met Saturday, July 8 at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.
President Jimmy Britt opened the meeting for business, and the U.S. flag pledge was led by Braxton Touby and Lucas Bailey. The secretary’s report was given by Cheyanne Mackey and the treasurer’s report by Zander Croskey.
Announcements were given by advisor Patricia Ann Lang including the approval of a CSB mini-grant, thank-you cards and goodie bags to be made up for veterans, and book bags with school supplies to be put together and distributed to elementary schools.
A 2023 Holmes County Fair 4-H booth theme was discussed and decided on, and all members present gave a brief description of their projects to members and guests present.
Refreshments were furnished by Zander Croskey for after the meeting.
Sgt. Brian Bernhart with his K-9 Unit, Diego, gave a summary of their behaviors and duties for the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.
The next meeting will be held at Millersburg Tractor Supply. Club members will have hot dogs, chips, drinks and a bake sale for the public, by donation, to further fund community service projects for Holmes County.
Club members also will participate in Holmes County Fair booth setup at Harvest Ridge Fairgrounds.
