On Sunday, Oct. 18, the Happy Harvesters 4-H club of Strasburg had its sixth online meeting. They discussed the Ohio 4-H Achievement Award and older youth opportunities like junior fair board, food and fashion board, camp counselor, and many trips. Applications are due in November.

The 2020 club shirts are available. A pickup night was planned to get the shirts to everyone.

The Tuscarawas County Fair for this year is over. Grace Haswell placed second in her pygmy goat class, Cole Himes placed fourth in his weight class for market hog and Wyema Porter’s market ducks took fourth in their weight class. Porter also received her plaque for a first place in the county with the Alcohol & Drug Abuse miscellaneous project.

The club has a new community-service project in the works. All of the members at the meeting voted to fill shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child this year. They will work together with the Community Bible Church-Loving People and the Cross Caffe, both of Strasburg, to help spread some Christmas cheer.

The meeting ended with a Helen Keller quote shared by advisor Katie Vickers. Everyone who was able to stay for recreation afterward played 4-H Trivia Bingo.
