On Feb. 28, TOPS OH1573 Nashville members lost 10 ¼ total pounds. Lynn Franks was best weekly and monthly loser. She said to walk at least 15 minutes each day. Lana Rush was best weekly and monthly KOPS.

The Hooked on TOPS contest began.

Leo Tope read a program from TOPS News about Judy Bolton, who weighed 390 pounds with a failing kidney and congestive heart failure. After trying many diets, she joined TOPS at 341.5 pounds. At TOPS Idaho 2020 State Recognition Days, she roomed with the 2020 TOPS Idaho Queen Judy Halone, who told Bolton how she lost and kept off weight by eating mostly vegetables including potatoes and fruit. Halone said potatoes are low in calorie density, claiming it is what is put on the potatoes that causes the weight gain. Bolton began losing an average of 5 pounds a week following Halone’s eating instructions, along with a little lean meat, and by August 2022, Bolton reached her goal weight of 180 pounds.

TOPS Club meets each Wednesday at the Nashville Global Methodist Church at 5:30 p.m., with weigh-in at 5 p.m. The first meeting is free.
