If that was spring we experienced last week, it was the shortest spring on record. We had a few warm days, which we thought were spring, followed by much cooler days, confirming that winter was still hanging around.

Last Saturday was downright hot, which felt suspiciously like a summer day. So what is it? Winter? Spring? Summer?

My Taller Half has already switched his closet from winter to spring/summer clothing and packed his warm clothing away. I, on the other hand, am hanging on to my long sleeves and sweaters because I find Mother Nature too fickle for my comfort.

Our house is confused about the undecided seasons too. The furnace fired up the other morning because it was freezing in this house. That afternoon we had to turn on the air-conditioning ‘cause it was stifling in this house.

The house and I would love to enjoy spring with warm days, cool nights and lots of sunshine. We wouldn’t object to an extended spring. Fewer 90 F days would be just fine for all concerned. Our house hates being baked during summer: She much prefers a warm sun, not a hot one.

Today is a lovely spring day. We plan to use the grill to cook dinner and then relax in the lawn chairs for snoozes. Of course we could plant a few flowers, and after naps we may just do that.

Our house seems to be basking under the warm sun and enjoying her manicured lawn. What could be better?

There are weeds lurking in our gardens and a few bushes that would like to be trimmed, but they will keep until tomorrow. Today is celebrate spring and encourage her to stick around, perhaps for another month or two.
