You are going to like the way you look, I guarantee it.-George Zimmer
I remember when I was growing up, watching the World Wrestling Federation a couple times a week. One wrestler is pressed in my memory, (other than Hulk Hogan), and that is The Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase.
He was the poster boy for corporate greed. He was cocky, arrogant and had a ego as big as the Empire State Building. His entrance music repeated the word money over and over again, like that was the only thing that matters. He had a trademark laugh that sounded like a hyena. He was a very good character, and a great villain. The audience loved to hate The Million Dollar Man. The WWF told him when he bought a newspaper at a public place he should throw down a $100 bill to maintain his image. Of course DiBiase was only playing a part, but he knew how to maintain a good image of the character that he was portraying. They say that image is everything.
In a world of 24 hour news cycles, celebrities cant afford to make a mistake, or their image will be tarnished forever. Remember when your parents told you to be on your best behavior, because the way you act is a reflection on their parenting, and they didnt want people to think that you were born in a barn. Just imagine yourself walking into an attorneys office to have a will drawn up, and find them wearing a tank top, shorts and sandals with their feet propped up on their desk. Is that the kind of person you want to handle an important document such as a will. If the lawyer had on a suit, was well groomed and looked nice, you would have more confidence in him or her.
We should never let others dictate our life; however it is important to make a good impression. You dont go to a job interview with torn jeans on. You need to look professional; otherwise the interviewer wont even give you the time of day. So, what kind of image do you have? Are you the life of the party, or Miss Debbie Downer. The kind of person that others want to be around, or one who people avoid at all costs. We have an atmosphere around us, that can either push others away from us or draw them to us. Have you ever just gotten a bad vibe from someone? How we look, our attitude, and how we conduct ourselves is all wrapped up in our image. When men wear a suit and tie they feel more confident about themselves, thus they are more likely to make a good impression. So get dressed up once in a while and enjoy your life just the way you are. Man do you look sharp!
