Quick budget friendly gift solutions

It's happened. Christmas is here and you need another gift. And, you need something that won't blow your budget.
When I find myself in the last-minute buying position, I try to put a little windshield or shower time into thinking about what the recipient enjoys. I try to think of consumables. That way, it doesn't matter if the person already has the gift I have in mind.
Offered services can often fulfill the need for a quick present and keep the budget in check. Use a computer to make a nice looking certificate offering to put your talents to work for your friend. Possible ideas include baby-sitting, snow shoveling, tree trimming, house cleaning, errand running, cookie baking, and ironing.
Don't discount a tasty treat. If you have a little time, make a batch of cookies, a loaf of your specialty bread, or the trail mix everyone loves.
When time is at a premium, grab a gift bag and fill it with sundae toppings. Caramel topping, chocolate topping, mini chocolate chips, and nuts are good starts.
For coffee lovers on the go, collect special coffees, flavorings, and a travel mug.
In an office gift exchange, I once received a wonderful selection of herbal teas and a package of scones. Knowing I was the only tea drinker in the office, the gift giver provided me with a delicious and relaxing treat for many mornings.
I love written words, so books and magazines usually come quickly to mind when considering gifts. For a quick gift, visit a store with a large magazine selection. Pick a magazine on a subject your recipient enjoys. Give her the magazine for Christmas and tell her a subscription is on the way.
Office supplies have always been a particular favorite of mine as well. If you know someone else with a love of paper, put together a goody bag of fun supplies like colored paper clips, pretty sticky notes, pens, a ball of rubber bands, or whatever strikes your fancy. A journal and a pen can also be welcome.
If funds allow, consider going online to purchase a zoo or museum membership. Your friends can have hours of fun.
Tickets for a special event might be just the thing. Possibly a night out together would be a perfect present.
Perhaps a friend has admired something of yours. Would she enjoy one too?
Your plant-loving friend might appreciate a Christmas cactus, a poinsettia or a bunch of cut flowers.
Treat a person who needs pampering to a gift certificate for a massage or manicure.
For a friend that's into fitness, consider treating her to a class you can attend together. Give her something she can use during the class. Perhaps a headband or gym bag accessory would prove welcome.
When time has just run out, try a gift card with a little personalization. Include a fun bookmark with a card for a bookstore. Put a fishing lure or hand warmers with a hunting store card.
Whatever you choose, give your gift with joy.
