Hi kids! After I read this book, I realized how busy the month of May really is! This is what I learned! May 1 is May Day. Many children dance around a maypole and play games together. Cinco de Mayo means the Fifth of May in Spanish. On that day, people celebrate Mexican culture with music, dancing, and special foods. The second Sunday in May is Mother’s Day. We celebrate our moms for who they are. And then we have Memorial Day. It is at the end of May. It is a holiday to remember all the men and women who lost their lives in war.

This book is part of a twelve-book series. Each book is devoted to a month of the year. That is why this book features all the activities for the month of May. I found this book to be very interesting and fun! Each book highlights weather, festivals, celebrations, and other facts about each month. The full-color photographs support the text. I think these books are great ways to learn about our world around us. They are small and easy to read. I also think they would be helpful for a book report or a science project.

Until next time, have fun learning about the month of May!

Sherry
