Speaking directly to sickness in faith

Previously I talked about the authority we have through Christ over all sickness and all disease because we have the very spirit of Jesus living inside of us and he has given us his power. This is vitally important to know because it changes our attitude toward sickness and how we pray when we are sick. Instead of just sitting by and passively allowing sickness to have its way in our body, we can rise up in the authority we have been given and not allow it in anymore. We can resist the devil, who brings sickness, and he has to flee (James 4:7).
We should actually get a little angry when sickness dares to try to attack us because Jesus paid for us to not have to be sick anymore. It has no legal right in our bodies because the health of our bodies was bought at a precious price and understanding how to use the authority we have been given is essential knowledge.
We should no longer be begging God and pleading, God, please heal if it be your will. No, we know it is Gods will for us to heal and be healed, so instead of asking God to do what he has already done, we need to use the authority he has given to us and speak directly to the sickness. I believe this is such a crucial truth we all need to know and to start operating in.
That is how Jesus prayed for the sick, how the disciples prayed for the sick and how we are to pray as well. Mark 11:23 says, For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
Jesus is telling us to speak directly to whatever our mountain (problem) is, and sickness would fall into the mountain category. He doesnt tell us to beg and plead with God to move it, nor does he tell us to simply think about it moving, but for us to speak directly to the mountain (sickness) for it to be moved. Speaking it out is so important because life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21), and our words carry power. We have been given power over all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease, and our words spoken in faith over the sickness will produce results.
Let me give an example of this from my own life. Im not sharing this for the focus to be on me but rather to show how speaking to our mountain in faith works. The other morning I woke up and was fine, but shortly after I felt a sore throat coming on, and my nose started running, just like it feels before a full-blown cold manifests itself. Instead of submitting to it, indignation rose up inside of me.
How dare you devil try to throw sickness on me was my attitude. Well, I had been meditating on Matthew 8:17 all week, which says, Himself took our infirmities and bore our sickness. I knew that it was my covenant right through what Jesus purchased for me to not be sick but to walk in health, not because of anything I had done, but solely based on what he had done for me by his grace. If Jesus suffered and died so I wouldnt have to be sick, I was not going to succumb to that sickness.
Instead of speaking to God to heal me, which I know he has already provided, I started speaking directly to that sickness in my body. Jesus bore this sickness so I wouldnt have to. Sore throat, you have to leave in Jesus name. Spirit of sickness, be gone. You cannot live in my body. Body you are healed because by his stripes I have been healed.
I kept confessing the word and thanking God that it was already done. And you know what? About an hour or two later it was completely gone. I have to say I am still growing in this area and sometimes I allow unbelief to prohibit the manifestation of my healing from happening. But this time, because I had the word near to my heart and mind, I was fully persuaded that what God had promised was going to happen (Romans 4:21).
It is the desire of my heart to see believers no longer passively allowing sickness to overtake us but to rise up in the authority we have in Christ and speak to any sickness that dares to think it can overtake a child of the living God. Speak to your sickness in faith and believe it is a done deal.
