Eaton, and the constable succeeded in recovering his money.
At the Tiddle home, south-east of Mt. Eaton, the band when right into the house. This family is very poor, and the old gentleman himself is quite seriously ill. Enticing the wife to another room the gypsies secured about three dollars. At other places in the vicinity they got more money. Paint township officers started after them Sunday morning overtaking the band at Smoketown, south of Beach City. They reluctantly gave up about $8.00 which they had taken from persons in the township. Other bands of gypsies which have been in the vicinity during the past few weeks have been very law abiding and are not in sympathy with acts like those committed by this band.
