When we give we grow

If we know each other personally, or if you’ve been reading this column for a bit, you know how serious I am about gettin’ to know humans. Actually, I thrive on meeting and interacting with new friends and lifelong ones, too. People just make my life so interesting and good. Just recently someone was asking my husband, Daryl, “How does Lee Ann sit on such long flights?” Serious and full of truth, Daryl said, “If she has a person to talk to, a book to read or something to write in, she’s fine.” It’s so true!
Within the last year and a half I have had the opportunity to do some pretty fun live demonstrations. I just hope everyone has had as good a time as I have. I’ve been out-of-town, like to Cleveland, Columbus and Ashland. I’ve had a ball in-town at Keim Lumber, Holmes County Expo, Heini’s Gourmet Market and P. Graham Dunn.
My next gig is gonna be a blast as well. I will be demoing at the Buckeye Event Center in Dalton at the Home and Garden Show. The show is actually March 4, 5 and 6. I’ll be presenting on Friday and Saturday. The event center is new, clean and right next door to P. Graham Dunn for additional shopping. I sure hope I get to meet some of you- whether again or for the first time. Try to make it out for a grand ole’ time.
From early into my demo experiences, prizes have played a huge, important part of the time people share with me. I mean really, isn’t it nice to have the chance to win some cool stuff? Along with sharing easy, yummy recipes, everyone that attends a demo has the chance to win prizes. And these demos will be no different. There will be chances to win some pretty snazzy things. If you come, I hope you win.
Giving is such a beautiful thing. Giving gifts, giving time, giving love. The interesting part about a true gift is that the giver expects nothing in return. When a gift is given with strings attached, soon it changes from a “gift” to a ball and chain. And I have yet to meet someone who enjoys receiving a “gift” like that.
When we give freely it changes us. It places something in our heart that is hard to explain. Something grows within us that can’t be bought or sold. True giving is from the love of God Himself. When we give we are living how Jesus lived and how he died. It was all about giving.
Stik a Fork into The Home & Garden Show, winning and true gift giving.
