AC-WH JVS board approves preschool tuition
The Ashland County-West Holmes Joint Vocational School District Board of Education held a regular meeting in the board room on April 17.
The board did the following during the meeting:
—Recognized the AC-WH Career Center students who achieved honor roll status with all A’s and students who received honor roll status with all A’s and B’s for the third nine-week grading period in the 2024-25 school year.
—Recognized the AC-WH Career Center students who achieved perfect attendance for the third nine-week grading period in the 2024-25 school year.
—Recognized and congratulated the junior students who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on April 3: Nathan Fair, welding, West Holmes High School; Lillian Galehouse, cybersecurity, WHHS; Megan Hughes, health tech, WHHS; Shanna Maynard, graphics, WHHS; Paityn Morris, criminal justice, WHHS; and Gretchen Weaver, animal vet tech, WHHS.
—Recognized and congratulated the senior students who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on April 3.
—Recognized and congratulated the senior students who are in their second year of membership in the NTHS: Madison Pearce-Laferty, cosmetology, WHHS; Madison Scheetz, health tech, WHHS; Corbin Straits, mechanical engineering, WHHS; and Ryan Weaver, welding, WHHS.
—Discussed the retire/rehire of a teacher.
—Approved the AC-WH Career Center preschool tuition at $75 per month for four days a week ($600 a year), effective for the 2025-26 school year.
—Approved the certified/classified personnel as substitutes, effective 2024-25.
—Approved the employment of certified/classified personnel as substitutes, effective 2024-25 through Tri-County ESC.
—Approved the employment of Timothy Musser II, principal, two-year limited contract.
—Accepted the resignation of Michael Earick, HVAC/R instructor, from a one-year limited contract.
—Approved an agreement between the AC-WH Career Center and the Ashland City School District for the funding, design, construction, operation, use and maintenance of a new greenhouse to be built on district property in support of the Future Farmers of America program.
The next board meeting is scheduled for May 15.
