AC-WH JVSD approves membership with OSBA
                        

The Ashland County-West Holmes Joint Vocational School District Board of Education held a regular meeting in the board room on Dec. 19.

The board did the following during the meeting:

—Recognized the following students: Nellian Spurlock, junior, culinary careers, West Holmes High School, for achieving November Junior Student of the Month; Owen Cronick, senior, automotive technology, Ashland High School, for achieving November Senior Student of the Month; and Holden Beechy, adult education, welding technology, for achieving November Student of the Month.

—Recognized BOE member David Hunter, Loudonville-Perrysville Schools, for serving as president of the AC-WH JVSD in calendar year 2024.

—Approved membership with the Ohio School Board Association for 2025 at $4,013.

—Established Thursday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. for the organizational meeting, budget hearing and regular January board meeting.

—Appointed Hunter as president pro tempore of the AC-WH JVSD BOE, effective Jan. 1 and through to the election of the board president for calendar year 2025, at the organizational portion of the January board meeting.

—Approved the employment of Mallori Schaad, cafeteria worker, and Jamie Wellert, paraprofessional.

—Approved an administrative contract for classified personnel Heather Morgan, cafeteria manager.

—Approved a supplemental contract for Career-Technical Club adviser FFA Emily Harding.

—Approved the employment of certified/classified personnel as substitutes and Tri-County certified/classified personnel as substitutes.

—Adopted new BOE policy 2265, protections of individual beliefs, affiliations, ideals, or principles of political movements and ideology.

—Appointed Nancy Hall as Title IX, Section 504 and American Disabilities Act coordinator and compliance officer for the AC-WH JVSD, effective Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.

—Approved a new cafeteria manager salary schedule as presented for SY2025-SY2027.

—Approved the ratification of the Ashland Vocation Teachers Association MOU-Food Service Coordination.

—Approved a resolution approving attorney-client fee contract and authorized litigation regarding diabetes medication pricing.

—Approved a resolution approving attorney-client fee contract and authorized litigation regarding social media.
