The Ashland County-West Holmes Joint Vocational School District Board of Education held a regular meeting in the board office on Aug. 22.

The board did the following during the meeting:

—Approved revisions to the 2024-25 adult education student handbook/agenda.

—Accepted a donation from the Michael Stoops Memorial Award Fund scholarship to benefit Dino Mash, auto body student.

—Approved the following out-of-state trips: Tod Fox, Ashland High School, agriculture, to Springfield, Massachusetts for the Big E FFA Floriculture Contest from Sept. 13-15 and Fox to Indianapolis, Indiana for the National FFA competition from Oct. 22-26.

—Approved the employment of the following full-time classified personnel, effective the 2024-25 contract year: Laura Jordan, animal veterinary science parapro, on a classified full-time one-year limited contract and Patricia Starkey, secretary, on a classified one-year limited contract.

—Approved the employment of the following part-time classified personnel, effective the 2024-25 contract year: Georgia Anderson, guidance/support services secretary, on a classified one-year limited contract.

—Approved the employment of the following full-time certified personnel, effective the 2024-25 contract year: John Stone, welding/fabrication instructor, on a certified one-year probationary contract and Donn Ramsey, building trades instructor, West Holmes High School, on a certified one-year probationary contract.

—Approved the following supplemental contracts for extended time for certified personnel, effective the 2024-25 contract year: John Stone, welding, two days, and Ramsey, building trades instructor, West Holmes High School, two days.

—Approved the employment of the following adult education part-time certified personnel: Liberty Kirvel, career development, effective Aug. 19.

—Approved the employment of Tri-County certified/classified personnel as substitutes, effective the 2024-25 contract year.

—Approved the employment of the district certified/classified personnel as substitutes, effective the 2024-25 contract year.

—Approved the resignation of the following district certified personnel as a substitute for the 2024-25 contract year: Steve Dickerson.

—Approved resolution GMP Amendment #5 to the construction manager at risk agreement and authorized the board president and treasurer to sign that amendment.

—Approved a resolution of change orders to the GMP with the construction manager at risk agreement and authorized the superintendent and treasurer to sign those change orders.

—Approved a resolution of a change order for the AEC improvement project.

The next board meeting will be Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. in the board room.
