Ag communications team takes first place

On Nov. 9, the West Holmes FFA chapter’s agricultural communications team competed at the District 8 contest held at Tri-Valley High School. In this contest, members have to create a proposal and a presentation on FFA recruitment, take tests on editing and the communications industry, and participate in a practicum involving web design, advertising layout, radio broadcasting, news writing, or press release writing. The team, consisting of Casey Schlauch, Elizabeth Overholt, Alexis Bird, Brittany Barnes, and Kayla Chandler placed first. The team now qualifies for the State Ag Communications Contest, which will be held Dec. 4 at The Ohio State University.
