Anabaptist history class
Marcus Yoder, director of The Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center (Beholt) in Berlin, will teach a class on Anabaptist history at Walnut Creek Mennonite beginning Wednesday, Jan. 17 and running on consecutive Wednesday nights through Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
The study will look at the place of the Anabaptist in the world today by examining history and the context in which the Amish and Mennonites developed.
In order to better understand their story and interactions Anabaptists must understand how they place in that story, both as individuals and as a corporate body. The class will pay particular attention to the stream of Anabaptism that fed into the local community. While by no means exhaustive, this class will aid the student in thinking constructively about their physical and spiritual heritage.
The public is invited to attend these classes. Walnut Creek Mennonite is located on Olde Pump Street (CR 144) in Walnut Creek. For more information, call the church office at 330-852-2560 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
