Aspire at Wayne County Schools Career Center will offer both a certified manufacturing associate credential and a Microsoft Office Specialist Word credential at no cost to participants.

The certified manufacturing associate credential course is open to adults with a desire to build a comprehensive foundation of knowledge for a successful career in manufacturing.

This program introduces basic concepts in the areas needed for a career in manufacturing. Content will include introductions to additive manufacturing, blueprint reading, CNC, lean processes, math fundamentals, measurement and inspection, quality, robotics, and safety and troubleshooting.

Adults enrolling in this free course will have the opportunity to improve basic math skills while learning about the manufacturing industry. There are no prerequisites for this course or minimum education requirements prior to enrollment.

Registration is now open for the first cohort. Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at WCSCC from Feb. 22 through June 8.

The Microsoft Office Specialist Word credential is open to adults with a desire to prepare for and earn the Microsoft Office Specialist Word certification.

Certification provides competency to perform a number of Word tasks such as creating and managing documents; formatting text, paragraphs and sections; creating tables and lists; applying references; and inserting and formatting objects.

Adults enrolling in this free course will have the opportunity to improve basic language and writing skills while learning Microsoft Word. There are no prerequisites for this course or minimum education requirements prior to enrollment.

Registration is now open for the first cohort. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-5 p.m. at WCSCC from Feb. 21 through May 18.
