A Buckeye Career Center student’s artwork will now represent the local U.S. Army recruiting office. Senior Charayah Dickey (Claymont) designed the logo in her graphic arts class and was selected by the office’s staff as the contest winner.

Her graphic arts senior classmates also competed. Dickey was presented with a plaque and U.S. Army swag bag for her achievement during a ceremony at Buckeye Career Center on Dec. 5.

Dickey’s parents, Kris and Sabrina Dickey, attended along with U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Chantal Figueroa, Commander Dominic Wilson, Sgt. 1st Class Omar Lopez and Sgt. Anthony Oliveira.

The logo will now be used on marketing materials for the local office. In addition graphic arts instructor Aubrey Gealsha was awarded a plaque for supporting and encouraging her students to participate in the contest.
