The next Community Forum at The University of Akron Wayne College will focus on the local economy. Our Local Economy: A Panel Discussion will be held Tuesday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m., in the Wayne College auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
The program will be a discussion led by Doug Woods, associate professor of business management technology. Panel members represent different areas of economic experience, including Rod Crider, president of the Wayne Economic Development Council; Colin Gordon, financial services officer at Farm Credit Services; State Rep. Ron Amstutz, Ohio District 3; Kim Cowgill, financial advisor with Edward Jones; and Eddie Steiner, president and chief executive officer at Commercial & Savings Bank.
This event is a follow up to the October Community Forum when Dr. Mark Schweitzer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland discussed the big picture of the national and international economic situations, said Wayne College Dean Jack Kristofco. We will now have the opportunity to look at our own area and how people here view the economy. The panel format gives us the chance to see it from several different perspectives.
