Demolition nearly complete
Travis Pauli, math and technology teacher, gave a presentation about the new high school technology that is being introduced this school year during the Fairless Board of Education meeting held Aug. 15.
Superintendent Michael Hearn said the teachers will have access to Promethean interactive screens in each classroom. Promethean is a tool to deliver greater impact on learning, interactive whiteboards, software and audience response systems with tools to support communication, collaboration, creativity and learning.
“Former Superintendent Broc Bidlack and I viewed a demonstration of Promethean in Columbus, and it was a natural fit for us,“ Hearn said. “The demolition of the 1967 high school began in July. Currently, there are only four classrooms still standing. The major part of the demolition is completed. The work will continue for the next two weeks.
“Eslich Wrecking Co. of Louisville is doing the demolition. We are sad to see the former high school torn down, but we will start to make new memories in the new building.”
Plans are to fill in the area, seed and grade it, and turn it into green space.
