Edgewood Middle School student attends youth leadership conference in Washington, D.C.
Patrick Saline, 13, son of Allan and Ashlin Saline of Wooster, attended the Congressional Youth Leadership Council/Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., from April 2 to 7. He represented the city of Wooster and Edgewood Middle School and was selected by his academic sponsor, Jen Snowbarger, seventh grade teacher at EWMS, for his academic excellence and leadership traits. This conference was attended by more than 310 young scholars from nearly all states and included specialized workshops, seminars, and speakers on a wide range of topics, such as government affairs, Civil War history, time capsule, communication, and significant current political issues. Also, a tour of metro Washington, D.C., included the U.S. Capitol, White House, and various monuments and museums.
Patrick has been on highest honors all grading periods at EWMS, to date; his interests include music, ice hockey, and cross country.
