The Fairless Board of Education passed a resolution in June to place a 4.5 mill emergency renewal of a 10-year levy on the Nov. 5 ballot. The levy is a combination of levies originally passed in 1993 and renewed in 2015.

The levy currently generates $1,864,760 annually for operating expenses. It represents 11% of the district’s annual operating budget, which is used to pay current expenses and maintain programs and staffing. An operating budget includes instructional supplies, utilities, fuel, extracurricular activities, transportation, maintenance, supplies, and salaries for teachers and staff.

Approval of the emergency levy will not increase property taxes for Fairless Local School District residents.
