The Leadership Tuscarawas class of 2010 held its graduation Tuesday, May 18, at Georgio’s Grille in Bolivar. The event wrapped up a 10-month program that started last August with a county-wide bus tour, a daylong retreat, and monthly program days. Each program day is designed to educate participants on a specific leadership skill and expose them to issues facing the community that they could become involved with. Throughout the course of the program, each class is required to complete a community project. This year’s class partnered with Healthy Tusc and helped put together a Winter Walk held at Schoenbrunn Village in February. Although the weather was snowy, the turnout was great and the whole event was a success. Members of the class of 2010 and their companies or organizations are as follows: Teri Edwards, Twin City Chamber of Commerce; Kim Nay, Mobile Meals of Dover/New Philadelphia, Inc.; Kim Nathan, Union Hospital; Kim Petry, The Budget; Lindsay Menapace, WRL Advertising; Terry Theis, Kent State University Tuscarawas; Kayla Alsept, First Federal Community Bank; Kris Cardani, Hampton Inn New Philadelphia. The mission of Leadership Tuscarawas is to develop passionate, visionary leaders to strengthen the community. Preparing for its ninth year, the program is designed to build leadership skills, create awareness of community needs, and provide hands-on training, experience, and problem solving within a diverse group of community leaders. Leadership Tuscarawas is now accepting applications for the 2011 class. Applications are available online at http://www.leadershiptusc.org, or by e-mailing Heather Beck at information@leadershiptusc.org, or by calling 330-340-5105.
