High school students can get a jump start on college by enrolling in the postsecondary enrollment options program (PSEOP) at The University of Akron Wayne College Holmes County Higher Education Center (HCHEC). An open house is scheduled on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 6:30 p.m., at the center located at 88-B E. Jackson St. in Millersburg. PSEOP was created by the state of Ohio to allow qualified high school students to enroll in a college or university and receive both high school graduation and college credit. Tuition, textbooks, materials, and fees related to the coursework are covered by the program. Information about the HCHEC, application procedures, the honors college, and a tour of the facility will be available during the open house. Students and parents will have the opportunity to ask questions about all aspects of college life at both the Millersburg location and the Wayne College campus in Orrville. For more information or to make reservations, call 330-674-2514 or e-mail holmescenter@uakron.edu.
