Local spellers compete in District Bee

                        
The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) District Spelling Bee was held at Kingsway Christian School Saturday, Jan. 30. Seventy-seven spellers from six area Christian schools participated. Spellers who came in first in their grade level competition received a medal. Second, third, and fourth place winners received ribbons. The top two spellers in grades five, six, and seven participated in a final spell-down after lunch. Winners received ribbons for second, third, and fourth place. The first place winner received a trophy. Hannah Falkenberg from Wooster Christian School captured first place. Second place went to Alexis Webber of Wooster Christian School. Sydney Mullen from Wooster Christian School came in third and Gabrielle Swartzentruber from Kingsway Christian School took home the fourth place ribbon. These winners will be participating in the ACSI Regional Competition March 26 at Ohio Christian University in Circleville. Kingsway students who placed were: Nathan VanSickle - First grade, first place; Abigail Lun - Second grade, fourth place; Gabrielle Thomas - Third grade, first place; Gabrielle Swartzentruber - Fifth grade, first place; Savannah Chapman - Sixth grade, fourth place; Kiersten Zacharias - Sixth grade, third place; Mady Cline - Seventh grade, second place. Wooster Christian School also had spellers who placed in grade level competition. They were: Dakota Henry - First grade, third place; Clara Lee - Second grade, first place; Adrianne Silva - Third grade, fourth place; Aaron Eicher - Fourth grade, first place; Rayne Leiner - Fifth grade, third place; Sydney Mullen - Sixth grade, first place; Hannah Falkenberg - Sixth grade, second place; Ashley Musil - Seventh grade, third place; Katherine Schmidle - Eighth grade, second place.
