Several Buckeye Career Center employees were honored for their service during the 2024-25 school year. Awards included recognition for perfect attendance, first-year completion, years of service and retirement. The honorees were celebrated May 29, the final working day for teaching staff members.
Perfect Attendance Awards were presented to Josh Jump, utility lineworker instructor; Joe Kuhn, maintenance; Jason Leggett, social studies instructor; Michelle Lobil, pharmacy technician instructor; Jeff Meyers, construction satellite instructor; Jeff Newsome, auto collision instructor; Linda Northrop, cafeteria; Mike Recktenwalt, CBI satellite instructor; Scot Rutledge, agriculture and diesel instructor; Tim Sheehy, CAD instructor; Dan Stotzer, social studies instructor; and Bobi Thompson, in-school detention instructor.
First-year Survival Awards were presented to Noah Begue, daily substitute; Emma Brode, adult aesthetics instructor; Kelly Cagot, adult medical office support instructor; Teri Carpenter, student services counselor; Jenny Carr, secretary; Robert Collins, commercial truck instructor; Michael Crilley, welding instructor; Dave Dobbins, adult law-enforcement instructor; Cyle Downerd, treasurer’s assistant; Angela Eckman, dental assisting instructor; Todd Elliott, construction instructor; Mackenzie Fahner, marketing secretary; Josh Feister, adult HVAC instructor; Mindy Haney, testing coordinator; Shane Hart, maintenance supervisor; Stacy Ionno, school counselor; Josh Jump, utility lineworker instructor;

Employees honored for 10 years of service include Kelly Luneborg, student services coordinator; Marvin Menefee, adult welding; Brian Myers, welding; Frank Polen, assistant superintendent; Bruce Vandall, landscaping instructor; and Don Young, adult heavy equipment instructor.
Jay Fisher, adult EMS coordinator, was recognized for 20 years of service.
Those honored for 25 years of service included Bucky Myers, law-enforcement instructor; Gale Stull, account clerk; Tim Septer, electrical systems technology instructor; Terry Thompson, construction instructor; Kendra Yoder, math instructor; and Jennifer Spies, adult secretary.
The 2024-25 retirees are Dan Bailey, maintenance supervisor, six years of service; Julie Brinkman, assistant principal, 23 years; Sharon Burdette, floral design instructor, 34 years; Shawn Dudziak, maintenance, six years; Bucky Myers, law-enforcement instructor, 25 years; Gail Sleighter, medical assisting instructor, 22 years; Jennifer Spies, adult secretary, 25 years; Carrie Rooks, maintenance, 28 years; and Don Young, adult heavy equipment instructor, 10 years.
Buckeye Career Center commended all honorees for their dedication and service to students and the broader community.
