The Clayland Lions Club has announced that applications for its memorial scholarships are now available in the guidance department of Claymont High School.

Three scholarships in the amount of $500 each are awarded to worthy graduating seniors who reside within the Claymont City School District.

A senior that is planning on attending any accredited post-secondary institution will be considered. This does not have to be a four-year course of study.

These scholarships are awarded in the memory of Bill Lee, Jack Pancher and Bill McGinnis, who were longtime members of the Clayland Lions, each of whom were responsible for promoting the educational projects of the club along with many of the club's other projects.

If a prospective applicant has additional questions, they can contact either of the Claymont High School guidance counselors, the ACE director of Claymont City Schools or Nathan Douglas, scholarship chairman of Clayland Lions Club, at nathan@claylandlions.org.

Applications must be submitted to the guidance office by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27.
