Seniors recognized for achievement

The awards were presented in front of their peers from their career and technical programs and their parents. Hannah Smith, of Tuslaw, a senior in dental assisting, and Josh Steiner, of Rittman, a senior in Ag mechanics/power technologies, were presented with certificates and checks for $25 each from American Legion Post 68. Smith is the daughter of Thomas and Karen Smith of North Lawrence, and Steiner is the son of Beth Steiner of Rittman. Josh Steiner had the highest score of all participants in this area. The test is given at schools throughout Wayne County, and a boy and girl in each grade level from sophomores to seniors with the highest scores advance to the district, regionals and then go to the state level. State winners receive a trip to Washington D.C.
