Several Buckeye Career Center employees are being recognized for their service achievements. The awards, announced by Buckeye Career Center Superintendent Bob Alsept, include perfect attendance, first-year survival, years of service and retirement during the 2022-23 school year.

Perfect attendance winners include Mike Starlin, culinary arts; Terry Thompson, construction technology; Bobi Thompson, early childhood education; Scot Rutledge, commercial truck; Brian Myers, welding; Michelle Beavers, pharmacy technician; and Jeremy Burdick, electrical systems technology.

Evening adult education employees also received the honor: Jay Fisher, EMT; Brian Leslie, HVAC-R; Gary Matthews, HVAC-R; Marvin Menefee, welding; Krystal Wiegand, cosmetology; and Don Young, heavy equipment/CDL A training.

First-year survival awards for those who began at BCC for the first time or changed positions include Chadd Wallick, career-based intervention; Dina Zimmerman, cosmetology; Melissa Milburn, cafeteria; Cheryl Walker, high school secretary; Morgan Roden, cosmetology; Elyse Brillhart, English; Michelle Cunningham, intervention specialist; Ashlee Cobb, intervention specialist; Dawn Beaber, TRACE-U; Chad Aubihl, maintenance; and Lisa Watson-Davis, agribusiness/horticulture at Carrollton satellite.

Employees honored for 10 years of service include Brenda Belknap, intervention specialist; Bill Sheldon, maintenance; Tiffany Stanley, family consumer science at Dover satellite; and Dan Stotzer, social studies.

Employees honored for 20 years of service include Melissa Long, teaching professions; John Oliver, natural resources; and Gail Sleighter, medical assisting.

Employees honored for 25 years of service include Molly Mann, math, and Joyce Large, adult education secretary. Tim Northrop, construction technology, was honored for 30 years of service.

The 2023 retirees include Garaway accounting satellite instructor Nancy Alam, 29 years; cafeteria staff member Linda Miles, 26 years; and natural resources instructor John Oliver, 20 years.

The honorees were celebrated May 30, the final working day for teaching staff members for the 2022-23 school year.
