Teacher tissue drive to be held at mall

The 2024 Tusc for Teacher Drive is back with a twist. The Back-to-School Bash event is the perfect way for students to end the summer and build excitement for the school year. And as part of our commitment to being a good neighbor in the community, we’re proud to help ensure every student and teacher has what they need to succeed through our tissue drive, in partnership with Newsymom.”
Guests are encouraged to bring a box of tissues to the drop-off bin located at center court near the fountain. Community members can see a complete list of retailers participating by visiting New Towne Mall’s Facebook event page at www.newtownemall.com or www.Newsymom.com.
“We are so excited to team up with New Towne Mall again this year to support our local teachers,” said Michaela Thomas, Newsymom executive director. “Our teachers have such an incredible impact on our children every school year, and we want to ensure they know how much they are appreciated.”
Following the completion of the drive on Aug. 18, there will be a wrap-up party to celebrate teachers from noon to 2 p.m. Any guest joining the Back-to-School Bash can check in near the fountain to be entered into the drawing for door prizes.
The community is invited to join the kickoff of the celebration at noon with Character Express Cat in the Hat and other special guests, an inside sidewalk chalk activity, balloon twisters, Big Brothers Big Sisters providing popcorn, and a photo booth for back-to-school photos at Flourish, free to the public.
This also will be an opportunity for local teachers to stop by and collect boxes of tissues for the school season inside Flourish. Any local teacher stopping by to collect boxes of tissues can visit Flourish for a chance to win a door prize.
