The Tuscarawas Valley Board of Education approved a resolution for the contractual agreement for Regional Cooperative Programs for the 2024-25 year. During the Aug. 13 meeting, the board agreed to participate in a cooperative program for audiology. The contract is for one year, from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, at a cost of $2,717 through the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center.

The board entered into an owner and architect agreement with Cordogan Clark and Associates Inc., formerly Lesko, for renovation at the administrative building, former high school, to construct a school-based health clinic at a cost of $1,850,000 and an agreement to oversee alternate renovations and upgrades to the facility based on available funding. The funds are being provided through a grant.

“The Tusky Valley dream of all students on one campus is coming true, and we look forward to welcoming our students, families and community into their new school,” Superintendent Dr. Derek Varansky said. “The facility has been designed to enhance academic programming to provide each student with the knowledge and skills necessary for our students, staff and community to enjoy for generations to come.”

The elementary school grand opening and ribbon cutting will be Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and a self-guided tour will be held immediately after the grand opening.
