Unusual sale at career center ending on May 28

Wayne County Schools Career Center animal care and management students are selling various animals and fish that they have cared for and raised this school year. The sale ends May 28. Sale hours are from 8:30 to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the animal care lab, said instructor Amber Abrecht. The school is located at 518 West Prospect St., Smithville. Follow the signs behind the Career Center building to the lab. Chinchillas are $60 each; guinea pigs, $10; hamsters, $6; rats, $4; mice, $2; and assorted tropical fish, $1-2, depending on size. Hendrix said she likes interacting with the animals in lab, and Hochstetler appreciates the hands-on learning. Weigand said he also likes dog grooming. For information, call 330-669-7066.
