The University of Akron Wayne College will host an information night on Monday, May 16, at 6 p.m., for those who would like to learn more about the Bachelor of Postsecondary Technical Education degree. No RSVP for this information session is necessary.
The general education requirements for this degree can be taken at either Wayne College in Orrville or the Holmes County Higher Education Center in Millersburg and the last 32 hours of the degree are taken online.
A degree in postsecondary technical education prepares graduates to primarily teach subjects within a technical specialty at the postsecondary level. Students from various backgrounds, including medical assistants, police officers, accountants and computer technicians, obtain these degrees to train others in the skills needed for success within the workplace. Common technical specialties of graduates include business, engineering, natural science and health technologies.
