Wayne County Schools Career Center 2013-2014 school year

The Wayne County Schools Career Center will have two different start dates for first- and second-year students this year, and also a new daily schedule. Juniors and all other first-year students will attend the first day on Monday, August 19, and the first day for seniors and the other second-year students will be Tuesday, August 20. The changes in start dates are to let the juniors and other first-year students get acclimated to the new school building and procedures before all students attend. Another change for this year is the school daily schedule, which will begin at 8:05 a.m. for most students, and end at 2:31 p.m. Practical Nursing students begin at 7:20 a.m. This change in schedule will allow more time for the buses to get back to the 10 public associate schools earlier. Students should check with their associate school district for bus departure times to travel to the Career Center. Also new this year will be mid-day transportation to Orrville High School for Engineering Technologies students and to Wooster High School for Exercise Science and Sports Medicine students. Student/Parent Orientation will be Wednesday, August 14 from 1-6:30 p.m. Information about Orientation has been sent to all students this summer, including instructions on filling out forms online. Students will receive their schedules, and have their identification photo taken for their name badge, and so should wear school appropriate clothing. There will be additional stops as well. The Career Center will serve breakfast each morning at a cost of $1.25 for students, or 30 cents for students on reduced prices. Lunch prices are $2.50 for students, and 40 cents for those on reduced prices. The cost for an adult lunch is $3.00. All lunches include a half-pint of milk. Extra milk will be 40 cents. The school now has a Snack Shack that will be open in the mornings before lunch and after school. Students will be able to pay for their purchases through their lunch account.
