Matt Weaver, son of Bob and Kathy Weaver, Millersburg, is participating in the Mennonite Church USA Ministry Inquiry Program. The program helps college students consider pastoral ministry by providing them an opportunity to work under the supervision of a pastor and experience ministry firsthand.
Weaver, a Bluffton University junior, will serve at First Mennonite Church in Aberdeen, Idaho this summer. He is a graduate of Hiland High School.
Students participating in the program will be involved in activities including the planning and leading of worship, working with congregational boards and committees, teaching classes and leading groups. The program requires 11 weeks of full-time involvement with respective churches. Weaver will receive a $2,000 scholarship to be applied toward his fall tuition at Bluffton, along with $500 cash for living expenses.
