On May 1, the West Holmes FFA chapter had four members, two juniors and two seniors, walk across the stage and shake hands with Jeremy Grove, the Ohio State FFA president, to receive their State Degrees at the 82nd Annual State Convention in Columbus. These recipients were: Aaron Clark (junior), Diversified Agricultural Placement SAE; Garrett O’Donnell (junior), Specialty Animal Production SAE; Kyle Hanna (senior), Beef Placement SAE; and Jared Zollars (senior), Hog and Firewood SAE. To receive a State Degree, members must have earned a Chapter Degree, participated in activities at local, state, and national levels, have a 3.0 GPA or 93 percent attendance rate, and have earned or invested $3,000 in a SAE project. Members who have earned their State Degree are now eligible to earn their American Degree.
