WH BOE approves new volleyball coach
The West Holmes Local Schools Board of Education met Monday, April 15 at West Holmes Middle School for a regular meeting.
The board did the following during the meeting:
—Approved participating in the OSBA workers’ compensation group rating program through Sedgwick with a fee of $1,800.
—Approved board policy IGBEA-R: reading skills assessment and intervention.
—Approved participating in the Ohio Schools Council purchasing co-op.
—Approved student accident insurance for the 2024-25 school year from Griffin Agencies Ltd.
—Approved the 2024-25 middle school handbook.
—Approved the hiring of Emily Legg, cook, effective March 6.
—Approved the retirements of Darla Jones, bus driver, effective May 31, and Tamara James, paraprofessional, effective May 31.
—Approved a stipend for Kaye Parsons, West Holmes Digital Academy special education services, for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
—Approved the hiring of Tessa Kanuckel as a nondegree teacher sub, effective March 27.
—Approved a supplemental contract for Amanda Humphrey, head volleyball coach, effective fall 2024.
—Approved the resignation of Emily Legg, cook, effective April 10.
The next board meeting is scheduled for May 20 at West Holmes High School.
