WHS has pair of National Merit semifinalists
Two Wooster High School students recently qualified as semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. WHS students Jaiwei Ge and Megan Kleinhenz are among the 16,000 semifinalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program held by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
“We are very proud of Jaiwei and Megan for being named as semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program,” Wooster High School Principal Scott Musser said. “They both work very hard, putting in the effort daily to be the best students they can be, and it’s great to see that work pay off.”

Staff shout-outs
At Edgewood Middle School, students can nominate staff members who have shown respect, integrity, safety and engagement. Nominations go into a drawing. If the staff member’s name is drawn, he/she receives a photo op with the nominating student to be posted in the school.
Canine therapy
For 13 years Gunner, a therapy dog, has been visiting Wooster City Schools. With his handler Claudia, he travels to schools so students can read to him. To become a therapy dog, the handler and dog have to pass various tests to ensure they are the right fit to work with children. Gunner brings lots of joy and peace to students.
