If you have a child who will be in kindergarten in the fall the Wooster City School District has a message for you….
"We need your help!"
"To adequately plan for the kindergarten class of 2010-2011, we need to know the number of children who will be attending," said Richard Goodright, Wooster City Schools assistant superintendent.
The district is asking parents who have a child in their family who will attend kindergarten in the fall to log on the Wooster City School's main Web site at www.woostercityschools.org, click on the Forms tab, download the Kindergarten Search for Names form and return it to their school as soon as possible.
"If you know of a child in a neighbor's family who will attend kindergarten next year, please give this form to the neighbor to fill out and return it to your school as soon as possible," said Goodright.
While the Search For Names form is merely a planning tool the district uses to get a glimpse into kindergarten enrollment for the coming year, it does give them a head start on planning for the new school year.
Kindergarten registration will be held Wednesday, April 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesday, April 21, from 3-8 p.m. This registration is for all children in the Wooster City School District who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30.
Parents may call 330-264-0869, ext. 1223 or 1241, to schedule an appointment.
Kindergarten registration forms are available online at www.woostercityschools.org, or by going to the Forms link on the district's main page. Parents also have the option to request that a packet be mailed to their home or they may pick up a packet at their home school or the board of education office.
Parents who are unsure which school is their home school can call 330-264-0869, ext. 1241, for more information.
