Michel to celebrate 90th birthday
Winifred (Winnie) Michel, wife of Rev. Richard E. Michel, a retired minister who pastored Moravian churches in Tuscarawas County for 22 years, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Oct. 18. She may be remembered by members of the congregations she and Rev. Michel served as a homemaker and hostess and a tireless worker on church projects. She also was a member of the church choirs.They came to the county in 1948 and served the Sharon Church near Tuscarawas until 1962. In 1966, they returned to the county to serve the First Moravian Church in Dover. Upon their retirement in 1984, they moved to Gnadenhutten.
In 2007 the Michels moved to Minnesota to be close to their daughter and her family. Son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Jeannie Michel, live in Dover.
