Neva Canfield Rees will celebrate her 90th birthday on Nov. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Schoenbrunn Moravian Church, 2200 East High Ave., New Philadelphia. She was born Nov. 2, 1921 in Fairmont, W.V. to Noah and Maude Canfield, the sixth of 12 children. She married Harry James Rees on Jan. 28, 1945. He died in 1975.
Her children are Ron (and Cathy) Rees and Gary Rees, who is deceased. One grandson, Dylan Rees.
She graduated from Sherrodsville High School in 1940. During WWII, she worked at the Goodyear Aircraft plant in Akron as an airline mechanic. Neva currently lives in Marietta, but lived in the New Philadelphia area most of her life.
