The Tuscarawas County YMCA will hold its 53rd annual Turkey Trot 5k race on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 28. This race welcomes everyone including serious runners, walkers, strollers and pets.

Race registration is available online at www.tuscymca.org or through RunSignup at www.runsignup.com/Race/OH/Dover/TuscarawasCountyYMCATurkeyTrot. Registration for youth age 15 and under is $20 until Nov. 27 and $25 on race day. Registration for age 16 and older is $35 until Nov. 27 and $40 on race day. A map of the course is available on the race website or at the YMCA.

Packet pickup and in-person registration will take place in the YMCA’s gymnasium on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 4-7 p.m. Packets also can be picked up on race day from 6:30-8:15 a.m., and 50/50 tickets will be available for purchase both days. Instant results will be posted with awards for the top three finishers overall and the top three in each age group. Special awards will be given for Best Spirit, Best Costume, Oldest Runner, Youngest Runner and Best Pet Costume. Winners may collect their awards in the Y’s multipurpose room at the conclusion of the race, starting at 9:30 a.m.

All proceeds from the Turkey Trot provide direct financial assistance to kids and families in the community through the Y’s annual campaign, ensuring no child is denied the opportunity to participate in Y activities due to an inability to pay. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of everyone in the community.

If interested in volunteering at the race, email Race Director Ryan Hursey at Ryan@tuscymca.org or call 330-364-5511.
